Meet the team…Pauline Murray

Introducing…Pauline Murray!

1.What is your role in the DDC team?

Innovation Brokerage Project Manager.

2. Tell us about your career to date.

Over 20 years in project and programme management with experience of research, health and manufacturing projects within the higher education sector.

3. What excites you the most about the DDC project?

Bringing industry and academia together is always exciting. The DDC project has lots of options around research, innovation and funding that industry can tap into. For the Innovation Brokerage initiative I am particularly excited about awarding our first round of Innovation Vouchers and following the journeys of the individual projects.

4. What does a typical day’s work include?

Now that the DDC Innovation vouchers scheme has launched, our Innovation Brokers, Rachel Mirfattahi and Mike Christian are on the ground speaking directly to businesses about potential opportunities. Once the first set of projects are awarded I will be working directly with the research institute and SME to scope their ideas from start up to close. In the meantime, I am attending as many suitable events to network and promote the DDC programme wherever I can!

5. Aside from the DDC, what do you spend your time doing?

I love to travel as much as possible with my husband and six year old son, Sam. We have always been keen on exploring the UK as well as abroad which came in particularly handy for the Covid enforced staycations over the last few years!

6. Tell us a little-known fact about you!

I love Wild Swimming and try to do this as much as possible. Later in the year I will be off on a solo adventure exploring the waters around Aviemore and The Cairngorms.
