New Talent Recruited to Spread the Digital Dairy Message

New staff at SmartSTEMs look forward to rolling out STEM engagement events across South West Scotland and Cumbria.

Our STEM Engagement partner, SmartSTEMs, have welcomed two new members of staff as part of the Digital Dairy Chain project. Mark Robertson has a strong dairy science background and will be heading up activities in Southwest Scotland and Donna Walton, formally a primary teacher, will be focusing on events in Cumbria.

All events and activities taking place as part of this project will aim to highlight the opportunities in advanced dairy processing, AgriTech, digital technologies and STEM subjects more generally. One of the main goals of the project is to develop a long-term pipeline of talent for the dairy and technology sectors in the region.

The team at SmartSTEMs are delighted to welcome the two new team members who bring with them a wealth of knowledge in the dairy sector and the education system. They both have a fantastic contact books with a network of individuals and organisations who will be able to help spread the message and attend events aimed at inspiring young people to join the industry and stay local.
