Digital Dairy Chain

Think
Dairy Careers

The Digital Dairy Chain is creating a workforce for the future by skills road-mapping, collaboration and showcasing the opportunities the dairy sector offers.

Bridging the gap

The Think Dairy Careers initiative aims to bridge the skills gaps and address the recruitment challenges faced by the dairy industry by:

  • Linking industry with national regional and national initiatives.
  • Reviewing the existing training and learning provisions to help improve the knowledge and skills gained.
  • Supporting dairy businesses to drive digital innovation forwards and attract a diverse pool of talent.
  • Highlighting the variety of dairy career opportunities to young people and those with transferrable skills.

Change in action

The Digital Dairy Chain’s Skills team are carrying out the following activities to ensure proactive steps are taken towards making change a reality.

Skills Analysis

We will conduct a skills audit and mapping exercise to help us better understand where we need to be in terms of training provisions and policy to support the dairy sector over the next 10 – 25 + years in line with Industry 4.0.

Showcasing Opportunity

By utilising the power of our partner network, we will help to promote roles employers are recruiting for to attract a wider and more diverse range of applicants to apply. Find out more about the Think Dairy Careers Expo here.

Think Dairy Talent Forum

We will launch the Think Dairy Talent Forum in June 2024 to lead a multi-agency partnership and ensure we stay informed of the challenges and opportunities faced by each region and drive the necessary change across the sector.
